The Kebbi State Government has entered into a partnership with Gsafety, a China-based security technology firm, to strengthen the fight against banditry and the Lakurawa gangs troubling parts of the state.
Speaking during a media briefing on Wednesday, Ahmed Sale Jnr, the firm’s representative, confirmed the collaboration, noting that Gsafety, which operates in 36 countries, specialises in advanced intelligence gathering and digital surveillance for security operations.
“We will deploy cutting-edge technology to collect and analyse crucial data on the activities of armed bandits and Lakurawa groups,” Sale said.
He explained that the firm would work in synergy with local and ward-level security networks to complement ongoing federal and state counter-banditry initiatives through technological integration.
Sale added that although notable progress had been achieved in curbing insecurity, the absence of modern surveillance tools had limited results.
“That is what we have come to provide in Kebbi State — the same model we have successfully implemented in other countries. Our headquarters is in Beijing, China,” he added.
