New Sokoto CP vows to end banditry, terrorismÂ

Meanwhile, the Sokoto State government and the Nigerian Police Force has intensified efforts in addressing the security challenges in the state.

Governor Aliyu’s media aide, Abubakar Bawa, who stated this in a statement said the state Governor, Ahmed Aliyu gave the assurance during a visit to the IGP at the Force Headquarters in Abuja, where both leaders discussed intensifying operations to curb violent crimes in Sokoto and beyond.

It said security remained the cornerstone of his administration’s 9-Point Smart Innovative Agenda, noting that no meaningful development could take place without peace.

Governor Aliyu disclosed that over two hundred patrol vehicles had been procured and distributed to security agencies since he assumed office, describing it as part of a broader logistics support plan to improve rapid response and operational efficiency.

Responding, IGP Egbetokun praised the Sokoto State Government for its support to security operations, assuring the governor of the Nigeria Police Force’s commitment to working with the state government.
