The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) reported that on October 25, the air component of Operation Hadin Kai eliminated numerous Boko Haram terrorists at two locations in Bula Marwa, Borno.
This information was disclosed in a statement by the NAF Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Commodore Olusola Akinboyewa, released on Monday in Abuja.
Akinboyewa noted that, having identified Bula Marwa as a primary meeting point for key Boko Haram figures, the NAF conducted Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) missions that confirmed increased terrorist activity in the area.
He explained that NAF fighter jets were then deployed for an air interdiction mission at the site.
“Upon arrival, ISR footage showed suspected terrorists gathering at a meeting point on 12 motorcycles.
“The motorcycles were traced to a main gathering area where more terrorists were already assembled.
“Accordingly, the first airstrike was launched, successfully engaging the target area.
“Shortly afterward, ISR assets observed terrorists returning to the scene to assess the damage and assist their injured, prompting further strikes that neutralized additional terrorists,” he stated.
Akinboyewa added that additional ISR operations later the same day identified another group of terrorists gathering under a large tree at a second site. NAF air assets conducted a precision airstrike on this location, achieving a direct hit and eliminating numerous terrorists. (NAN).
