The President of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Isaiah Kemje Benjamin, has praised the Kaduna State Chapter for organizing a successful media badminton tournament and urged other state chapters to follow suit.
Benjamin made the remarks at the closing ceremony of the SWAN Dr. Mohammed Maina Media Badminton Tournament was held on August 23-24, 2024, at the Exclusive Badminton Club, Kaduna State University (KASU).
He commended the Kaduna Chapter for bringing members and journalists together through the competition and advised them to organize more frequent events to keep members fit and bonded.
Benjamin also thanked the tournament sponsor and suggested expanding the next edition to a zonal level for the North West region.
The tournament saw members and journalists competing for their media houses and chapels of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), with Benjamin himself participating and winning a prize in the doubles category.
