The Kaduna State Government has reiterated its readiness to partner with organisations willing to support initiatives aimed at improving the living standards of residents across the state.
The Director of Social Mobilisation, Kaduna State Universal Basic Education Board, Kabir Lawal, stated this during the handover of renovated classroom blocks and toilet facilities by Save the Children International in selected communities in Chikun and Igabi local government areas.
Represented by the Desk Officer, School Health, Asma’u Idris Lere, he commended the organisation for the intervention and called on benefiting communities to take ownership of the facilities.
“This intervention will go a long way in improving the learning environment of our children, and we urge communities to protect and maintain these facilities,” he said.
Speaking at the event, a representative of Save the Children International, Antine Lewi, said the project was designed to enhance access to quality education.
“Our goal is to support children to learn in a safe and conducive environment that promotes academic growth,” she stated.
Also speaking, the Executive Secretary of the Igabi Local Government Education Authority, Yahaya Bala Yahaya, assured that the facilities would be properly utilised.
“We will ensure these structures are maintained and used effectively for the benefit of the pupils,” he said.
Communities that benefited from the intervention include Amana, Parda, Rido, Maraban Rido and Child-Friendly Udawa in Chikun and Igabi local government areas.
The event featured an appreciation performance by students of Maraban Rido, who expressed gratitude to the donors through songs.
